The cell was first discovered by scientists from the United Kingdom named Robert Hooke in 1665. At that time. Hooke cell Cork observing from the cell wall of a plant that is dead with the use of a simple microscope. He saw a small empty room which was later named it with the cell (Latin cellula = restroom)
The discovery of cells develop when Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek becomes the person who first saw living cells in 1674. Since then, scientists around the world are vying to do experiments oncells. Lots of scientists who try to disclose theories about cells, such as the following.
1. Jean Baptise de Lamarck (1809) issued a statement that any living entity is a collection of cells
Ludolph Christian Treviranus. 2 and Johann Jacob Paul Moldenhawer stating that the individualis the Union of the cells
3. Henri Dutrochet stated that fundamental element is the cell of the organism
4. Felix Dujardin (1835) stated that the most important part of the living cells is a liquid that is always found in living cells
5. Johannes Purkinje (1840) introduced the term protoplasm which is the fluid inside a cell
6. Max Schultze berendapat that protoplasm is the basic structure of life and is the most important part of the cell
7. Rudolf Ludwig Karl Virchow in 1858 States that cells derived from previous cells (omnis cellulae cellua)
8. Robert Brown discovers the nucleus has important meanings for the cell, because the set of all the activity in the cell
9. R. Strasburger stated that each cell nucleus is derived from the cell nucleus before throughcleavage
10. C. Bernard States that the cell nucleus is the most important structure of the cell regulate the whole work cell
Based on the results of the discoveries scientists, then it can be concluded that:
1. all sentient life above consists of cells
2. The cell is the smallest structural unit of living beings that became the basic constituent of the body components of living beings
3. The cell is the functional unit, because the cell performs a function of life, such as protein synthesis that is associated with the formation of morphological and physiological traits;reproduction in the process of growth and development; perform response; do the energyutilization, and others
4. All cells come from the previous cell
5. The cell is the unit of heredity that can be bequeathed genetic traits from one generation to the next
